Deja Girl 2003-2013

Almost ten years ago on January 26, 2005 we adopted
Deja from Boxer Luv.
She was 2 years old and named Ariel.
She had SO MUCH energy and quickly became very attached
to Ryan. We quickly found out that she did not like bikes
(or anyone on a bike) and would bite at their ankles til
they got off the bike?! She also was not a fan of hispanics...
not exactly sure why, may have had something to do with
her first few years of life??
Deja quickly became very protective of Ryan and I.
One day while Ryan was at work I was home alone with Deja and was
taking my trash can out front. I had opened the side gate and turned around to get the trash,
Deja started to growl and by the time I turned around there were two hispanic men
walking up close behind me. Deja then started barking and running towards them,
after a few curse words from them they started running down my street!
Not sure what would have happened if Dej' weren't there, I'm just sure glad she was! :)
On the flip side of that story, one day after getting kids home from school
Peyton was a tiny baby sleeping and Deja was outside.
I heard lots of screaming coming from outside so I looked out the peephole
to see Deja barking like crazy and the neighbors son and another neighbor trying to hold her
back?!? I told the older kids to stay there and ran out to get Deja... she didn't play well with
other dogs and it was a little dog!! Luckily the dog was fine and I walked deja home. Two minutes later my neighbors husband, her, and her dog were at my door YELLING at me??
AFter apologizing I see Deja run across the street again?! The kids had let her out side and the gate was still open!? Ya, the neighbors WERE NOT happy!? I wasn't happy about Deja either!
Besides not playing well with other dogs, Deja has been a GREAT dog!
When bringing all four kids home from the hospital I always worried a little about
what Deja would do. After smelling the babies she became very watchful over them.
Whenever they would cry she would do her whining cry until we came to help the baby.
Sadly after almost ten years with Deja she began to have problems with her
back legs and hips. She would slip and slide all over our tile floors like
Bambi stil she would fall on her rear. She then would stay on her rear til someone
helped her back up. Sunday we noticed that she wasn't really eating any more
(not even people food or sliced cheese! here favorites!)
That night she moaned all night but didn't want to go outside or eat.
She just laid in our room not wanting to come out.
Ryan and I both knew how much pain she was in and how old she had gotten, and we
knew that the best thing for her was to be put down. :(
Ryan took her Monday afternoon and was able to stay with her til she
was down. We then told the kids that night and poor Blake ran to his room
crying. Ryan went in with him while I talked with the girls.
Peyton would ask, "where Deja go?" I would tell her "with Heavenly Father, remember?"
She would then clap her hands and say "yay Deja!"
We all then went into Blakes room and laid on his bed and talked about how much happier Deja is now that she is pain free!
Kenzie just kinda watched as Ryan, Blake and I would cry... when I asked her if she was
sad about Deja she replied, "ya, but I'm just glad it wasn't one of us!"
She is already planning what our next dog will look like?!
~
I'm so glad we were able to adopted Deja and that we were able to have ten GREAT years
with her!! With all the ups and downs no matter what she was always a great protector to our family
and always a very loyal dog.
We'll always think about her and know that she is no longer in any pain! :)
RIP Deja Girl!
All Dogs Go To Heaven! :)

Football Season!!

It's that time of year again!
Blake is playing in the 7-8 division and is on
the Seahawks team!
The cute team mom made all the sisters matching
Seahawks headbands!
She even ordered some bands for the moms!
 Team huddle before the game
Dylan and Blake were chosen to be
captains for the coin toss.
 Blake on the defense line...
Ryan (in the background) is the defense coach!
They played a tough team with lots of Blake's friends
from school.
After a close game and a interception by Blake
they lost by one touchdown.
It was an exciting game!
It looks like this will be a fun season to watch! :)

Kendyl's Turn!

While at the mall for June's birthday, I decided
that would be a good time to get Kendyl's ears pierced!
Sarah was there to be the photographer and
help watch the other little girls!
Kendyl did great and was by far my easiest baby to
get their ears pierced!
Here she is showing off her new bling! :)

Birthday Party FUN!

The month of August was a month full of Birthday Parties!!
Kenzie was invited to Gwens party at a cute little girls
boutique! They were given a princess makeover,
had a tea party, and a dance party! Such a cute place!
Kenzie and "Shweety" Gwen.

 Striking a pose! :)
 All the Party Girls!
     Tea Party! :)
Then, a few weeks later June Bug had a birthday!
She invited Peyton to go to the mall and
ride the motorized stuffed animals!
They had a rough start trying to figure them out,
but as soon as they got the hang of it...
they were off! :)
Sarah and I followed while pushing the babies in their strollers.
We also did a lot of video taping and even more laughing!!
We then went and rode the carousel and had
lunch at Chick Fila!
These girls all have SO much fun with each other!

Schools in Session 2013-2014!

Meet the teacher night was really easy this year since we
already knew both kids teachers!!
Blake is now in the 2nd grade has his teacher from
Kindergarten, Mrs. Eagleburger!!!
He was SO excited to hear that he got Mrs. Eagleburger again!! :)
McKenzie is in 1st grade and she is in Mrs. Davis's class...
who Blake had last year for 1st grade!
She had been hoping all summer that she would get Mrs. Davis, so
of course was also very excited for school to start!!
The kids teacher from pre-school had moved to another
elementary school a few years ago and we were so
sad to see her leave Augusta Ranch.
Over the summer she was offered a job teaching
2nd grade so we stopped by her classroom to say
hi! We LOVE Ms. Kami and are SO glad she is back!
 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!
Both kids were SO excited to start school and to see
all of their friends again! Peyton was really sad the first few days
to have them gone all day... but quickly adjusted once
she figured out that she doesn't have to share anything!!
(yet, pretty soon Kendyl will be old enough to want the ipad too! ;)
So far its been a great year!
The only complain is from Blake, and that's because he just
found out that in 2nd grade he only gets TWO recesses!?! ;)

Last days of Summer!

Once we got home from Disneyland we only had a few more weeks
til school started! We also got home just in time to spend time with our
long lost friends from Colorado, the WYETHS!
These kids have been BFFs since birth and I LOVE that they still have so
much in common and play SO well together even though they
only see each other once a year.

Kenzie, Addilyn, Blake, Carter, Brailyn, and Preslee.
A HORRIBLE picture of me but needed to document that
we do see each other sometimes! ;)
This summer our ward of almost 10years was split. :(
We lost some really great families but have gotten to know new ones!
Ryan is still in the bishopric but is now the 1st counselor...
(just hit our 4th year... not that I'm counting!! ;)
Our first Sunday in the new ward Peyton got bit in
nursery!! She was pretty tough about it in class but sure "milked it"
once she got home.
The two "littles" watching Minnie Mouse.
Kendyl is BY FAR my youngest child to start watching tv...
Not my best parenting moment! ;)
Last swimming days of the summer...
we were trying to teach the girls how to "weenie roll" their hair! :)
 Kendyl's first swim day! :)
Worn out from swimming, Peyton fell asleep in her
goggles and floaties!
 CANNON BALL!!
Blakes FAVORITE thing to do when he swims...
soak anyone around him.
 Kenzie working on her diving.
Bahama Bucks!!
The kids love playing the ring toss game.
The day before school started I took these two little
girls to get pedicures and manicures...
It was Kenzie's first time and its safe to say...
 She LOVED IT! :)
We were all ready for the 1st grade!! :)

Day Four... Final day of Disney.

Since on our first day of Disneyland we were able
to ride all the rides we took it easy on our last day...
partly because we were all exhausted! ;)
Playing in the water waiting for Ryan and Blake to
ride Space Mountain.
Then Kenzie and I rode it using another baby pass!
This picture cracked me up of Kenzie!! :)
For some reason I barely took any pictures on this day...
The kids and Ryan rode Nemo ride
we took the Monorail around the park
Blake and Ryan did the Star Wars training and Star Tours
The girls and I went to the Beauty and the Beast Show
While Blake and Ryan did Autopia
Then we got a call from the Galovich's who had just drove
6 hours with their five kids saying they were on their way
to pick up Kendyl and Peyton so that we could enjoy our last
few hours at the park! Who does that?! Seriously they are some
amazing friends! So we met them at our hotel and gave them Kendyl.
Peyton was too shy to go with them and I wasn't about to give them TWO
fussy children!! ;)
So we decided to eat dinner next door at Ihop before returning
back into the park!
Here we are with our load a lot lighter... and easier ;)
back at the Haunted Mansion.
We repeated a lot of the rides again and then
went to watch Fantasmic!
After the show we watched the fireworks again,
then went back on Space Mountain! :)
On our way out of the park the kids stopped at a few
stores to pick out their souvenirs!
We were all able to sleep in the next day before we had
to check out of our hotel.
We packed up the car and walked back over to
Downtown Disney so Blake could spend his
souvenir money at the Lego Store!
We all had such a GREAT time!
Our favorite parts of the trip...
Ryan: Radiator Racers, World of Color, & Disneyland in General ;)
Mine: Goofy's Kitchen
Blake's: California Screaming & Tower of Terror
Kenzies: California Screaming
Peyton: The Parade & Small World
Kendyl: Riding in the Bjorn & Stroller ;)
